Student Senators Wanted

Posted: May 31, 2017

Have you considered becoming an active member of the the student government at Buffalo State?

USG is looking for students to fill out the USG Senate for the 2017-18 year. We have a number of Senators elected during the recent student election but there are still empty seats. USG is a Buffalo State institution representing students at the college since 1971. You can become a part of that tradition.

Anyone who will be an undergrad in September - senior, junior, sophomore and even freshman - is welcome to apply. We would love for the senate to accurately represent the diverse backgrounds of the student body with commuter and resident students and people from various academic disciplines.

If you are interested you can submit an application during the summer months. We will be in contact with you for interviews or followup questions and will try to get the best candidates into action as quickly as possible once classes start at the end of the summer. There is a GPA requirement but if you are an incoming freshman or transfer student the requirement may be waived pending your first semester grades.

Here’s how to apply:

  • Go to and use your campus username and password to sign in.
  • Using the ORGANIZATIONS menu go to the United Students Government page.
  • Look in the FORMS section for the USG Senator Application.
  • Fill out the form and SUBMIT.

You may receive an Approval notice in your email; this is just an acknowledgment that your application was received. The officers of USG will contact you to further the process of you becoming a USG Senator.
