USG is happy to congratulate our Chief Justice of the USG Judicial Council, Jennifer Briones, who is one of Buffalo State's four recipients of the 2020 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. This award is the highest student honor bestowed by SUNY recognizing students who have integrated academic excellence with distinguished achievement in extracurricular areas.
In addition to serving as Chief Justice for the past two years, Jennifer has also been a Student Conduct and Community Standards hearing board member and a member of the President’s Task Force on Campus Safety. She has worked with the Political Science Department in their review process as well as an award-winning Model United Nations delegation to a New York City conference. In her capacity as lead resident assistant for Cassety Hall, she has served student residents, new students, and particularly students with accessibility problems.
Off campus, Jennifer has worked with the American Civil Liberties Union, Crisis Services, and Jericho Road immigrant and refugee services.
Jennifer earned a bachelor of arts degree in international relations.
