There are many opportunities for students to get involved in campus life through student groups. The groups below are the ones that USG provides. Each of these Student Organizations has a dedicated web page included on the Bengal Connect site that includes information on the group's purpose, activities and leaders and how to contact them.
These organizations are registered and funded by United Students Government (USG) through the mandatory student activity fee.

Organization Registration - Why is it necessary to do it again?
Every student organization at Buffalo State, whether USG, fraternity or sorority, or just an independent club, is required to register EVERY YEAR by the beginning of the fall semester through Bengal Connect. The registration includes names and contact information on current officers, members, and advisors. The registration should be kept up to date. If you have a change in officers during the school year, you should re-register with the new officers' information.
This registration puts the club on file with the following campus offices:
Without an approved registration form on file your group could be denied use of space on campus, use of your budget, and other campus privileges.
If you wish to start a new student organization you should contact the Student Leadership & Engagement Office in Student Union 400.
USG Recognition
Being recognized by the college does NOT mean you are recognized by USG. USG Recognition is a separate process and is the only way your group can qualify for activity fee funds. Information on the process can be found in "Becoming a USG Organization" in the left tab of this page.
For all currently Recognized USG Member Organizations there is a re-recognition process that each group must go through once every three years. If your group is due for re-recognition by USG you will be notified during the fall semester on what is required to complete the process.
