Casting Hall Productions
Casting Hall is Buffalo State University's student-run theatre organization dedicated to fostering creativity, artistic expression, and a love of the performing arts. Throughout the academic year, the organization sponsors and produces several mainstage performances, including dramas, comedies, musicals, and other theatrical productions that showcase the talents of Buffalo State students.
Beyond its stage productions, Casting Hall enriches the campus and surrounding community through educational and engaging programming, including workshops, guest lectures, auditions, performance opportunities, and special events. The organization provides students with hands-on experience in all aspects of theatre, from acting and directing to stage management, set design, lighting, sound, and production.
The Record
The Record is Buffalo State University's student-run news organization and has been serving the campus community since 1913. Dedicated to informing, engaging, and amplifying student voices, The Record provides coverage of campus news, student life, events, athletics, and issues impacting the Buffalo State community.
The organization welcomes students interested in journalism, writing, reporting, photography, editing, multimedia production, and storytelling. In addition to publishing content on its website, The Record also produces its podcast, Just for The Record.
WBNY
WBNY 91.3 FM is Buffalo State University's student-run alternative radio station and has been a staple of the campus and Buffalo music communities for more than 40 years. Dedicated to promoting alternative, independent, and emerging artists, WBNY provides listeners throughout Buffalo and Erie County with diverse programming that reflects the interests and creativity of its student staff.
In addition to its wide variety of music programming, WBNY offers an array of student-produced content, including talk shows, artist interviews, campus event coverage, local music spotlights, and special broadcasts. The station also serves as the home for live coverage of Buffalo State athletics, broadcasting football, soccer, basketball, and hockey games throughout the year.
